Diana - The Artist:
DIANA STARBUCK, moved to the Sunshine Coast over 35 years ago. Because of her love of animals, she had always dreamed of living in the country.
She began painting in oils, back in the 1970's, but had to put painting on hold, while she returned to school as a mature student to Capilano College, in order to obtain a better job. Her new and demanding career in Real Estate sales, began in 1990, but working 7 days a week, left no time to resume her creative urges, which were deep-rooted. Eight years ago, under the instruction of a local artist, Diana "made time" for painting, this time in acrylics. Her colourful paintings of animals, gardens, and favourite places, reflect her love of the Sunshine Coast, and how she captures the essence of her subject. Residing now, with husband Dave, in Roberts Creek with her horse, "Joy" ; black Lab, "Roy", rescued Yellow Lab/ Hound cross, "Tracker", and "Dolly" the miniature horse, Diana is grateful to be living her childhood dream of country living with her "pets".
